Weekly reports to stress Canada's acid-rain worry
In an effort to increase public awareness of the acid-rain problem, the Canadian government has begun issuing weekly reports on the acidity of rain and snow falling at five locations in eastern Canada.
The information will be issued to the wire services in the form of weather reports. Canadian officials said a similar program in Maine had been successful in drawing attention to the issue there.
