Reagan to call for more aid to Central America
President Reagan said Saturdaa he will ask Congress for a substantial increase in aid to Central America to restore democracy, peace, and economic progress because ''it's morally right to do so.''
''I believe peace is worth the price,'' Reagan said in his weekly radio address, adding that the US has a ''vital interest in preventing a communist Central America.''
Although Reagan emphasized the economic aspects of his program, a senior official said more military aid would be required, mostly to prop up the US-backed regime in El Salvador.
