Australians rejoice over end of drought

Australian sheep and cattle farmers were celebrating two days of torrential rain Monday, which ended one of the country's worst droughts this century. The rain flooded parts of the Northern Territory and the states of Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia.

The Weather Bureau said the downpour totaled 10 to 12 inches in certain areas , equivalent to nearly an average year's rainfall.
