Marcos daughter runs for Philippine legislature

Imee Manotoc, the daughter of Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos, has filed to run as a candidate in next May's National Assembly elections, an Election Commission spokesman said Wednesday.

Her mother, Imelda Marcos, politically powerful in her own right as a Cabinet minister and governor of metropolitan Manila, announced Tuesday she would not be running for reelection.
