New Orleans rejects ban against homosexual bias
The New Orleans City Council rejected an ordinance last week to ban discrimination against homosexuals in employment, housing, and the use of public facilities, such as restaurants, theaters, and motels. Church organizations would have been exempt from the ordinance.
The vote, a 3-3 tie, came after five hours of debate. Four votes were needed to pass the ordinance.
