Rebels repulsed in attack on barracks Qadaffi uses
About 15 rebels firing rockets and automatic weapons attacked Libyan leader Col. Muammar Qadaffi's barracks in Tripoli Tuesday but loyalist forces apparently crushed the attempted coup, Western diplomats and Italian news reports said.
It was not known whether Qadaffi was inside the barracks at the time of the attack.
In London, the Daily Telegraph reported that Libya had executed some of the diplomats expelled from Britain after the siege of their London embassy for ''bungling the job.'' The paper cited ''well-informed sources.''
