Salvadorean panel reject attempt to nullify election
The Central Election Council rejected Tuesday a last-ditch effort by ultra-rightist Roberto d'Aubuisson to overturn the victory of President-elect Jose Napoleon Duarte, the council president said.
Armando Rodriguez Eguizabal made the announcement after a two-hour meeting of the council, which was considering a request that Mr. Duarte's victory be nullified because of alleged improper vote-counting procedures. Mr. Rodriguez said the request by Mr. d'Aubuisson's Republican Nationalist Alliance party was ruled ''inadmissible.''
