Mondale and Hart slated to meet in New York today
Aides to Democratic presidential contender Walter Mondale said he will meet this morning in New York City with Sen. Gary Hart, but the exact time and place of the meeting was not announced.
Senator Hart announced Monday he would not challenge several hundred delegates supporting Mr. Mondale at the Democratic National Convention next month. Hart had criticized the ''tainted'' delegates for being elected with the help of political action committee money. But he said a challenge to their legitimacy would, ''whether successful or not, splinter Democrats at this critical juncture.''
As expected, Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts endorsed Mondale for president on Monday.
