Sakharov's wife sentenced to internal exile, US told

The State Department said Thursday it had received a report Yelena Bonner, wife of Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov, was sentenced last week to five years' internal exile for slandering the Soviet state. It suggested videotape pictures of the Sakharovs that surfaced in the West Wednesday might have been circulated by Moscow to divert attention from the action against Mrs. Bonner.
