Fishing craft gets submarine in its nets off Norwegian coast
A Norwegian fishing boat netted a foreign submarine Tuesday afternoon in the North Sea some seven to eight nautical miles off Stavanger, the Norwegian Navy said. Norwegian authorities have determined that the submarine is not from a NATO country, a spokesman said, and that a coast guard vessel on its way to the scene would try to force the submarine to the surface. The two-man crew of the 47-foot fishing vessel was wearing survival suits in case the submarine attempted to break through the fishing net and flee.
