Pentagon reports pool plan for any Grenada-type event
The Pentagon announced Wednesday that 11 journalists will make up the ''national press pool'' of reporters and photographers who would accompany US military forces in any future Grenada-style operation.
Michael I. Burch, assistant secretary of defense for public affairs, said the pool will not include reporters or photographers from daily newspapers. It includes CBS, NBC, ABC, and Cable News Network, as well as Time magazine, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, the Associated Press, and United Press International. A radio network and news photographer have yet to be named.
