Swedish newspaper says data on NATO jet in seized tapes

Stolen West German computer tapes seized by Sweden contained top-secret information from the NATO Tornado fighter project, a Swedish newspaper said Thursday. Security police sources have confirmed the seizure of some tapes but are refusing further comment.

The newspaper said the tapes had been seized in a garage outside Stockholm in February during a raid ordered after Swedish customs intercepted secret US computers being smuggled to the Soviet Union from West Germany.
