Anti-analytic reflection
October 23, 1984
We read in the press again that this antiquated snow on the boughs and this coldest day of the year have come with the anti-cyclones. Ah, these scientific terms: cyclones, cycles and currents. ... How immensely boring everything is, when it does not glow with imagination. Unless we rejoice like children at rooftops whitened with snow, at fairy tales on windowpanes - it means that we have grown old. Alas, we do not always need the analysis of things. What we do need, like bread, is the magic of beauty.
