San Diego mayor on trial in investment firm case
The perjury and conspiracy trial of San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock opened Monday, the day he was sworn in for his second term. He is accused of taking about $350,000 in under-the-table campaign contributions from jailed financier J. David Dominelli and Nancy Hoover, principals in the defunct investment firm of J. David & Co., and from political consultant Tom Shepard. The mayor will be formally inaugurated today.
