Last night it rained
June 18, 1986
Last night it rained, there was a party The trees, adorned with tiny wet diamonds, Sang as the wind played through their branches Every blade of grass danced The rain drops chimed on my window And drummed on the roof The ballroom air was sweet and misty The moonlight shimmered on every wet surface Of the dance floor This morning, only silent puddles and Scattered leaves remain The grass blades droop, tired The trees stand silent and still, asleep
