RAIN DELAYS PLANTING OF SOME CROPS WHILE DROUGHT HURTS OTHERS

Some farmers are stuck in the mud, others wish it would rain enough to create some muddy fields. Crops continued to suffer in major areas of the Great Plains while too much rain slowed spring planting in the Eastern corn belt and the Southeast, the government's Joint Agricultural Weather Facility reported Tuesday.
