LOG HOMES MORE POPULAR

Not only the pioneers built log homes. They are becoming more popular today, according to Log Home Living magazine. In 1987, sales of log home building material packages increased by more than $27 million to $467.9 million, the publication reports.

However, the number of log home kits produced fell by 2,274 to 15,854 in 1988. ``This is probably duke to the general decrease in housing starts,'' says John Kupferer, editor of the magazine.
