US TO ALLOW ENTRY TO MORE REFUGEES

September 13, 1989

The Bush administration will hold admissions of refugees to the US to 125,000 in the next fiscal year, an increase of 8 percent from this year, a congressional source said Monday. The administration, which doubled the allotment for people from the Soviet Union this year to 50,000, will not increase this number for the year beginning Oct. 1, the source said.
