US ELECTRONICS SALES SHOW STRONG GROWTH
October 17, 1989
WASHINGTON
US factories shipped $193.3 billion worth of electronic equipment and related products in the first nine months of 1989, a 7 percent increase from the same period in 1988, the Electronic Industries Association said Monday. The association attributed the rise to a rapid growth in the electronic components sector, which reported sales of $39 billion, a 6.1 percent rise over the first three quarters of 1988, and growth in the computers and industrial electronics sales.
