TELEPHONE'S RING SHOWS EUROPE'S INTEREST IN 1992
March 22, 1990
LILLE, FRANCE
Philip Jenkinson uses his telephone to measure the growing interest in the Europe of 1992. ``A year-and-a-half ago, I might have got one inquiry a month from Britain about setting up here,'' says the Lille attorney, a transplant from Nottingham, England. ``By last year I was getting one a week, and now, quite seriously, I average one a day.''
Not all those calls turn into business, Mr. Jenkinson freely admits. But he says the increased activity reflects a changing Europe where people are increasingly open to living, working, and investing in another country.
