DRESS CODES STILL IN FAVOR

February 25, 1991

Despite complaints about the high cost and discomfort of ``proper business attire,'' most office workers in the United States think a dress code is important. One in seven workers say a dress code is ``not important at all,'' while 36 percent say it is ``very important,'' and 32 percent ``fairly important,'' according to a Gallup Organization study commissioned by Ricoh Corporation. At smaller companies, 41 percent rated dress codes ``very important.'' -PATHNAME- /usr/local/etc/httpd/plweb/DBGROUPS/paper/database/tape/91/mar/week10/ffav.
