UNEMPLOYMENT DIPS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Unemployment dropped by 0.5 percentage points in February in New Hampshire, to 6.9 percent, the state Department of Employment Security reported. That figure compared with 7.4 percent in January 1991 and 5.1 percent in February 1990. Government employment increased, but job losses were reported in manufacturing, retail trade, and the service sector.
