CELLULAR PHONES BECOME POPULAR

More Americans are using cellular phones while away from home these days, according to a report from the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association.During the first half of 1991, 1.1 million individuals signed for cellular service. That is the largest number of subscribers ever added during a single half-year period, and drives the national subscriber count to 6.4 million. For the same period, the cellular telephone industry grew about 21 percent, adding almost 183,000 subscribers every month.
