REHAB CONSTRUCTION INCREASES

Residential and nonresi-dential rehabilitation construction amounts to 23 percent of total construction this year, compared to 17 percent five years ago. More money is being spent on improving buildings rather than building new ones, according to Real Estate Perspectives, a newsletter issued by Sumichrast Publications in Rockville, Md.In the past three years, $120 billion was spent on rehab construction in the United States.
