200 YEARS OF BISCUITS
February 25, 1992
PARSIPPANY, N.J.
In the past two months, Nabisco Biscuit Company has been celebrating its bicentennial by producing 25 million commemorative packages of three of its brands: Oreo cookies, Premium Saltines, and Honey Maid Grahams. Each collectible series is reminiscent of packages from the early 20th century.
A small bakery, founded in 1792 in Newburyport, Mass., to make hardtack for sailors, eventually joined other bakers to become the National Biscuit Company.
