MONITOR RECEIVES `PUBLICK OCCURRENCES' AWARD

The Christian Science Monitor received a "Publick Occurrences" award for superior achievement March 20 from the New England Newspaper Association for the paper's "Global Frontiers" series, which ran April 11, April 25, May 9, and May 23, 1991. The award takes its name from the publication generally regarded as the first newspaper in the United States.
"Global Frontiers" drew from Monitor staff and contributors from 23 points around the globe to discuss broad trends in the fields of politics, economics, culture, and the environment.
