GLOBAL DEMAND FOR SILVER IS GROWING

Worldwide demand for silver outstripped supply for the second year in a row and estimates for 1992 indicate further widening of the gap, according to a study by The Silver Institute.

In 1991, demand exceeded supply by about 46.2 million ounces, compared to a shortfall of 37 million ounces in 1990. The survey predicted an increased deficit of 53 million ounces in 1992.
