POOR WRITING SKILLS COST APPLICANTS JOB

Job hunters may need to brush up on their writing skills if they want to get an interview with a potential employer, according to a recent survey of 100 executives from major corporations in the United States.

About 80 percent of the respondents said that they have declined to interview candidates solely because of poor grammar, spelling, or punctuation found in their resumes or cover letters.

The survey was sponsored by Reference Software International, a maker of writing improvement software.
