MAKING TOUGH DECISION BETWEEN FAMILY AND CAREER

WESTBURY, N.Y.
Employees are less willing than five years ago to sacrifice family or leisure time for more opportunity on the job, says a report by the Olsten Corporation, a temporary employment service firm.
If a job transfer leads to more pay but erodes family or leisure time, only 28 percent of the 578 human resources executives say employees would accept the move. In contrast, 7 out of 10 say employees would accept a promotion even if it reduced free time.
