Starlings On My Lawn

Like children in summer the starlings on the lawn dash through the sprinkler's intermittent rain and sun. Glazed almost blue-black, almost black-green they shake off the damp after every run. Starlings on the lawn peer through their blinkers as they prance and preen polished by the sprinklers and the liquid sun.
