COUNTRY/BLUES. Ted Hawkins - The Next Hundred Years (DGC):. @CDText = ``You got to pay the dues if you want to sing the blues,'' an ex-Beatle once said. Ted Hawkins has certainly paid his dues. He's been singing on the streets of Los Angeles for 30 years, and is only now making his major-label debut with this, his sixth album. Performing a mixture of astute covers (Webb Pierce, John Fogerty) and heart-rending original songs about success and failure (``Big Things,'' ``Ladder of Success'') in a hauntingly raspy voice, this country-blues singer and guitarist is the real goods.
