`Century of French Cinema' Tours North America
NEW YORK
`HISTOIRE(S) du Cinema'' and ``JLG by JLG,'' two of Jean-Luc Godard's latest works, are included in the program ``Gaumont Presents: A Century of French Cinema,'' a centennial celebration of France's oldest studio that is now touring North America.
The series has already appeared in New York, Boston, and Washington; remaining dates are as follows:
Cleveland: Cleveland Cinematheque, through Aug. 28;
Cleveland Museum, through Aug. 28
Houston: Museum of Fine Arts, Sept. 2 to Oct. 30
Madison, Wis.: Wisconsin Center for Film, Sept. 9 to Oct. 15
Berkeley, Calif.: Pacific Film Archive, Sept. 9 to Nov. 27
Los Angeles: UCLA Film Archive, Sept. 30 to Dec. 3
Toronto: Cinematheque Ontario: Oct. 28 to Dec. 7
Montreal: Cinematheque Quebecoise, Nov. 3 to Dec. 23.
The show will return to Mr. Godard's native France for showings in 1995.
Numerous films made by Godard earlier in his career are available on home video.
