* SATURDAY

ABC's Wide World of Sports (ABC, 4:30-6 p.m.): In the season premiere of the long-running sports show, Miguel Indurain, winner of the Tour de France five consecutive times, is honored as ''1995 Athlete of the Year.''

Remember WENN (AMC, 9-10 p.m.): The golden age of radio comes to TV in American Movie Classics' debut of its first original live-action series. Set at Pittsburgh radio station WENN just before World War II, this drama-comedy follows the station's on-air soap operas, mysteries, and news programs, which tie into the off-air lives of WENN's actors, technicians, and producers.

* SUNDAY

Shakespeare - the Animated Tales (HBO, 7:30-8 p.m.): Hosted by Robin Williams, this Emmy-winning series for all ages returns with six new episodes. This first one, ''The Winter's Tale,'' portrays what happens when Leontes, king of Sicilia, suspects his queen is carrying on with another monarch.

The programs are produced by Moscow's Soyuzmultfilm Studios and utilize a variety of styles, including conventional cel animation, stop-action puppetry, and oil paint and pastel compositions. Actors from Britain's National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company supply voices for the characters.

Pride and Prejudice (A&E, 8-10 p.m.): This latest adaptation of a Jane Austen novel is a co-production of A&E and the BBC. The story of men, marriage, and money continues at 9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

* TUESDAY

A Gulf War Exclusive: President Bush ... Talking With David Frost (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): Five years to the day George Bush launched the Persian Gulf war, this program combines a never-before-seen Camp David interview with him from March 9, 1991 - 10 days after the war ended - and a recent interview at his Houston office - his first extended TV interview since leaving the White House. In both settings, the former president talks with Sir David Frost about key elements and effects of the war.
