Travel Haiku

A haiku is all

there is space for on the back

of a check: Herewith -

Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Round brick-red mountain

in brick-red desert. Thunder -

storm rings it with green.

In Adelaide

Neighbors' oranges hang

across our fence, wait to drop.

Below, I too wait.

Beneath Ceduna Pier

In the tidal pool

bleached shells with hermit crabs, one

blue-and-white marble.
