A hall of fame for children and teens
November 3, 1999
To address a lack of recognition for the good deeds of young people, Larry Sagen founded the International Youth Hall of Fame in 1990. Next year he plans to travel the US in a van, stopping to honor at least 2,000 children who have been nominated by friends, community groups, and neighbors.
Hall of famers receive a letter from their local mayor and a tile with their name on permanent public display. Honorees are also asked to encourage another child to realize his or her dreams.
