Nature changes her finery

It was my editor's idea: Photograph the same scene in four seasons. I chose Cat Rock Park in Weston, Mass. I liked the combination of evergreen and deciduous trees, and the reflective potential of the pond.
I jotted notes about my shooting spot and brought along prints of previous photos to line up the next one. In autumn, I marveled at the painterly reflections. In winter I danced around to keep warm. Elusive spring required multiple visits. Summer's challenge was finding a morning without rain.
Today is the fall equinox (Latin for 'equal night'), when day and night are of equal length in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
