Shadow dancers
March 14, 2006
She dances barefoot with her shadow,
arabesques, pas de deux, adagios,
hops, skips and jumps,
the grass and ground as
soft and hard as toe shoes,
the birds and breeze stand-ins
for the philharmonic.
She eyes her silhouette
mirroring her every move.
"Look at me, Grandma!" she hollers.
The old woman smiles, nods and
waltzes with her memories.
