I'm reading At Night We Walk in Circles, the new novel by Daniel Alarcón. I liked his earlier novel, "Lost City Radio," so turned to this one, too. The story takes place among three men in an acting troupe traveling into the hinterland of a country much like Peru. Each of the characters has a back story, as does the narrator. (Who is he, and why does he care?) The dichotomy between art and life, between reality and performance is rendered in vivid prose.
