Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick will be writing two more books, according to a new deal he’s signed with publisher Hyperion Books.
Patrick, whose book “A Reason to Believe” came out in 2011, will write a book that his agent Todd Shuster told The Boston Globe will be about 100 pages and will be released only in e-book form this May. It will cost $2.99 and will be titled “Faith In the Dream: A Call to Our Nation's Liberal Majority to Restore American Values.”
In the e-book, Patrick will ask readers give him their definition of the American dream and to tell Patrick stories of how they themselves have pursued it. Some of these stories will then be included in Patrick’s second book, due in 2014.
"I want to hear from the American people about their faith in the American dream and promise," Patrick said in a press release.
President and publisher of Hyperion Ellen Archer said she believes the e-book format will provide new opportunities for reaching readers.
“Releasing an electronic exclusive opens up a whole new space – the digital frontier – and allows us to spread the Governor’s visionary message far and wide in ways that were never before possible,” Archer said in a statement.
Patrick’s first book, “A Reason to Believe,” was published by Broadway Books.
