Will actress Rosamund Pike star in 'Gone Girl'?
The Hollywood Reporter says Pike 'has been offered and is expected to accept' the role of Amy Dunne, a woman who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary.
Rosamund Pike has reportedly been offered and will probably accept the role of Amy Dunne in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel 'Gone Girl.'

The “Gone Girl” has (presumably) been found.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Gone Girl” director David Fincher has offered the lead role of Amy Dunne, the woman who disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary, to actress Rosamund Pike. Hollywood Reporter writer Tatiana Siegel writes that Pike “is expected to accept" the part.
“Argo” actor Ben Affleck had already been cast as husband Nick, who finds himself under suspicion after his wife disappears.
One of Pike’s most recent projects was the 2012 Tom Cruise film “Jack Reacher,” in which she appeared as lawyer Helen. Moviegoers might also recognize her as Jane Bennet from the 2005 adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice,” Dominic Cooper’s girlfriend Helen in the 2009 film “An Education,” or as the princess Andromeda in the 2012 action film “Wrath of the Titans.”
She will also appear in the Simon Pegg comedy “The World’s End” this August.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Girl” is scheduled to start production in September.
Fincher and the novel’s author, Gillian Flynn, are reportedly adapting the script. Meanwhile, Flynn’s book is still at number 10 on the New York Times bestseller list for combined print and e-book fiction after having been released in June 2012.
