The film adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling book “Unbroken,” which will be directed by Angelina Jolie, is moving forward.

Actor Jack O’Connell was recently cast as Louis Zamperini, the American Olympic track star whose plane crashed in the Pacific during World War II, causing Zamperini to be captured by the Japanese Navy. O’Connell is appearing in the upcoming film “300: Rise of an Empire” and stars on the British drama “Skins.”

The production also recently cast the parts of “Phil” (Russell Allen Phillips) and “Mac” (Francis McNamara), the two men who were on the plane with Zamperini, according to TheWrap. Actor Domhnall Gleeson of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” will play Phil, while Finn Wittrock, who starred on the soap opera “All My Children” and will appear in the upcoming film “Winter’s Tale,” will portray Mac.
