'The BFG' film will reportedly be directed by Steven Spielberg
Spielberg's last project was the 2012 Oscar-nominated film 'Lincoln.'

The planned film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s novel “The BFG” will reportedly be directed by legendary helmer Steven Spielberg.
As we previously reported, Melissa Mathison, who was behind the script for the 1982 film “E.T.,” is adapting the movie for the screen. Spielberg directed “E.T.”
“The BFG,” which was also released in 1982, follows a young girl named Sophie who meets a giant, who is the only one of his kind who doesn’t eat people and has large ears that allow him to hear others’ dreams. It was previously adapted as an animated film, which was released in 1989.
According to Variety, the movie will be released in 2016.
