A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Starz TV series “Outlander.”

“Outlander,” based on the series of books by Diana Gabaldon, stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser, a former World War II nurse who finds that she has time-traveled back to the 18th-century highlands while on vacation in present-day Scotland. In the past she encounters Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Jamie’s relatives as well as a man named Jack Randall who is her husband’s ancestor (both are played by “Game of Thrones” actor Tobias Menzies).

The trailer shows the origin of the title – it’s a Scottish term for “foreigner” – as well as Claire’s encounters with Jamie, his suspicious family members, and Jack Randall.

Tracing fentanyl’s path into the US starts at this port. It doesn’t end there.

The TV series “Outlander” premieres on Starz on Aug. 9. Meanwhile, Gabaldon just released the newest title in the series, “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood,” earlier this month.
