Robin Williams biography will be written by a New York Times reporter
Dave Itzkoff, who is also the author of 'Mad as Hell: The Making of Network and the Fateful Vision of the Angriest Man in Movies,' says he will publish a biography of the actor.

Dave Itzkoff, a New York Times culture journalist, is planning to release a biography of Robin Williams.
Williams, known for such films as “Good Morning, Vietnam,” “Dead Poets Society,” and “Aladdin,” died on Aug. 11.
Itzkoff’s book will be published by Henry Holt and Company but a title and release date have not yet been set, according to the Associated Press.
The writer is also the author of a 2011 memoir titled “Cocaine’s Son” and a book about the making of the 1976 film “Network” titled “Mad As Hell,” which was published this past February.
“Robin Williams was a cultural hero of mine, and in the encounters and interactions I was able to share with him, he was always gentle and generous, humane and thoughtful and hilarious,” Itzkoff said in a statement.
The reporter had written pieces on Williams that included an interview in 2009 after Williams had heart surgery. He also talked with Williams about his friendship with Billy Crystal, who delivered a tribute to Williams at the Emmy Awards on Aug. 25.
