Bumble Bee Foods is recalling some cans of its chunk white albacore tuna that may not have been sealed properly, which could result in spoilage.

The recall affects certain batches of the company’s 5-ounce Bumblebee and Brunswick brand Chunk White Albacore and Chunk Light Tuna products with “Best by” dates between Jan. 16 and Jan 18, 2016. No illnesses have been linked to the tuna, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The affected cans of tuna were distributed to retailers nationwide between Jan. 17, 2013, and Feb. 28, 2013.

They took up arms to fight Russia. They’ve taken up pens to express themselves.

“Due to can integrity concerns, our top priority at this time is to remove these recalled products from distribution as soon as possible,” Steve Mavity, Bumblebee Foods senior vice president of technical services and corporate quality assurance, said in the FDA release.  “We are working closely with our sales team and with retailers to help expedite the recall. We must assure our consumers and retailers of a safe and quality product so we very much appreciate everyone’s part in disposing of the products with the specific codes indicated.”

Affected cans can be identified by their Can Label UPCs and “Best by” dates. Customers who have bought any recalled tuna should throw it out. For any additional questions, and information about reimbursement, visit the company release on the FDA’s recalls website here, or call Bumble Bee Consumer Affairs 24 hours a day at (800) 800-8572.
