From dragging us out of bed in the morning to helping us beat that afternoon slump, there are very few things we can achieve throughout the day without that morning coffee. Those imprisoned by the pricey vice can now rejoice as we celebrate our new favorite holiday on September 29 — National Coffee Day.

Last year, a host of our favorite stores used the day to promote fair trade brews and offer discounted or free java. Below, we've listed some of the best of these offers that we expect will return this year. Be sure to bookmark the page and check back as we update when we receive confirmation on these deals.

Best National Coffee Day Deals

Tracing fentanyl’s path into the US starts at this port. It doesn’t end there.

  • Krispy Kreme: This favorite donut chain gave visitors a free small coffee and Original Glazed donut.
  • Dunkin' Donuts: Here, you could test your self control and skip the sweet treat but score a larger cup of joe as the store is offered a free medium cup of hot or iced Dark Roast coffee.
  • Whole Foods: It wasn't completely free, but you could nab a 12-oz. cup of coffee all month long for just 25 cents for energy while you shopped.
  • Coffee Culture Cafe: Early risers could nab a free small coffee between 6 am and 11 am local time.
  • La Mars Donuts: They offered yet another free 12-oz. coffee.

So no matter your choice of discounted brew, you'll have no excuse to snooze through your alarm, avoid that mounting paperwork, or fall asleep on the bus on National Coffee Day.
