Israeli raid: Should Israel continue its Gaza blockade?
June 1, 2010
Monday's raid by Israeli troops of a flotilla attempting to bring aid to Gaza has renewed attention on Israel's blockade of the Gaza strip, which it has maintained (along with Egypt) since 2007. Israel insists it must restrict access to Gaza to limit Palestinian rocket attacks. The United Nations and human rights groups have criticized the blockade for constituting undue "collective punishment."
What do you think? Is Israel justified in continuing the blockade? Is there a better way to limit rocket attacks? What policy changes would you like to see?
