“The Fast and the Furious” actor Vin Diesel recently offered a glimpse at the making of the newest movie in the franchise, “Fast & Furious 7,” as well as his feelings about moving forward with the film without series actor Paul Walker.
On his Facebook page, Diesel posted pictures that appear to be from the movie, including one of his character, Dom Toretto, standing with Walker’s character Brian O’Conner, and discussed watching the trailer for the new film.
“Universal came to visit, to show the trailer for FF7,” the actor wrote. “Speechless... yeah, it was that INCREDIBLE! I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet... we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come.”
Besides the photo of Diesel and Walker together in the film, there was also an image of Diesel’s character Dom taping up his hands. (Check out the photos here.)
Walker died on Nov. 30 and according to E!, his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker have worked on the movie as stand-ins as filming continued. According to Hollywood Reporter writer Matthew Belloni, unnamed sources say Walker’s character Brian will be “retired” in the movie.
“The trio [‘Fast & Furious 7’ director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan, and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum of Universal Studios] then devised a plan to tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out, allowing the franchise to continue without him,” Belloni wrote.
Walker starred in all but the third of the “Fast and the Furious” films as well as such movies as the 2014 film “Brick Mansions” and the 2006 movie “Flags of Our Fathers.”
“Fast & Furious 7” is set to be released on April 3.
