'American Horror Story': A look at the upcoming season starring Lady Gaga
The upcoming season of the show stars actors such as Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, and Denis O'Hare. Gaga has appeared previously in films such as 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' and 'Machete Kills.'

A new season of the FX hit anthology series “American Horror Story” will debut this October and the new episodes will reportedly be set at a mysterious hotel.
Cast members for “American Horror Story: Hotel" recently discussed the upcoming season, which stars singer Lady Gaga as the owner of the hotel.
“She is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people and she has a nefarious plan that’s revealed in the first episode,” "Horror” co-creator Ryan Murphy told Deadline Hollywood about Gaga’s character.
As is customary for “Horror,” which tells a different story each season with different characters but keeps many of the same cast members, “Horror” veteran actors such as Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Chloe Sevigny, and Denis O’Hare will be participating in the new episodes.
Newbies to the show like “New Girl” actor Max Greenfield are also coming aboard for the new “Hotel” season.
Gaga has acted previously in such projects as the 2014 film “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” and the 2013 movie “Machete Kills.” She also appeared at the 2015 Oscars to perform a medley of songs from the film “The Sound of Music” and was praised for her performance.
“Horror” is one of a few recent shows that have embraced the anthology format and found critical and audience success by doing so. (Fellow FX show “Fargo” and the HBO show “True Detective” are two other programs that change it up from season to season.) The awards bestowed on "Horror" include multiple Emmy Awards for actress Jessica Lange, who appeared on all previous seasons of the program before bowing out for “Hotel.”
The show has also won Emmy Awards in such categories as Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Bates and Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for James Cromwell. It has been nominated for various Golden Globes as well and Lange won one for her work.
