Grass in shady areas

Fall is the best time to repair and restore your lawn or to seed a new one. If you are trying to grow grass in the shade, always overseed it in early fall so it will grow thicker. Also, mow it higher than you do grass in the sun. That gives the blades of grass more surface to manufacture food for strong roots.
